Tópico: jUploadr Ubuntu Intrepid - Zoomr Authorization

wrote Enviado 8 meses, 2 semanas atrás
I have it running fine, i have the correct java version and everything. But when I try to authorize zooomr, i get error: Problem communicating with Zooomr: Got bad HTTP response (status code 404).
what is up with this? i can authorize flickr fine. i searched, and all i could find, were people saying to install the previous version of juploadr, and this was for windows, and these posts were from 2008 and and 2007, some even before the mark III stuff; let me clarify, i am new to zoomr, and i have no clue what mark III entails, I know they supposedly updated some stuff, and I have no clue what an api is; i say this because i feel some of this might be mentioned.
and yes i know of the problems of uploading to zoomr through linux, that is why i was going to use juploader; you can use juploader or you can do this http://zuuumeristi.wordpress.com/2007/09/23/uploading-to-zooomr-from-linux-you-can-with-a-trick/ but again, how can i authorize zoomr?

Hi I'm running Ubuntu as well, so I gave this a try, see if I could reproduce your problem. Installed the latest version, and added the zooomr account, and when it prompted me to authorize it took me to a zooomr authorization screen on my browser, authorized, and then I could upload. No problems.

404 errors usually mean that the server couldn't be contacted, so maybe the server that does the authorization was momentarily down, I'd give it a try again cause it worked for me. You probably already know that the non-flash version of the uploader on this site works fine in linux, right? I think it says html-based on it, here's the link.

I hope it works out for you, Paul. I'm using the openjdk-6-jre java package, and juploader 1.2alpha1 on ubuntu 8.10. Maybe try running it off of the ubuntu livecd with these packages and seeing if it works out that way? At least then you could determine that it's something wrong with your current system as opposed to a software bug..

thank you very much amaisa. i just tried it again, and i still get the 404 error, and only for zooomr, i still can add flickr fine; its wierd, when i click add flick account, it brings up the screen, click to authorize, but when i click to add zoomr, it does not bring anything up, you can tell it is trying, but no new window pops up; only when i click preferences, and in the account tab click authorize jUploadr, with the little zooomr icon on the button, will it actually bring up a new window, and then it gives me the 404 error; both ways it seems pretty evident that for some reason, it is not connecting.
and yeah i know the non flash version works fine, i just wanted to batch upload.
i just realized it, or i think i realized it for you because i saw this posted a few places. people had the same problem i am having, but when they switched to the alpha version, it authorized just fine. actually would you be able to link to where you downloaded the alpha version; I currently have version 1.2.2. thank you so much again!

I personally use f-spot on linux (ubuntu intrepid also) to manage my pictures and it has an export feature to Zooomr. It works like a charm, so you might give it a try.
